Kurasa Roadmap: Second Quarter Product Features

Welcome to the Kurasa Roadmap! As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing educational experiences and supporting the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) in Kenya, we are excited to share the latest product features and updates for the second quarter. Our goal is to empower teachers, students, and parents with tools that facilitate effective teaching, learning, and monitoring of academic progress.

 

Introduction

At Kurasa, we believe in the transformative power of education and the crucial role that technology plays in modern classrooms. Our platform is designed to provide comprehensive support to educators, helping them manage their daily tasks with ease and precision. As we continue to evolve, our focus remains on delivering innovative solutions that address the unique needs of primary education within the CBC framework.

In this second quarter, we have introduced a range of new features and enhancements aimed at further improving the user experience for teachers, students, and parents alike. These updates are the result of extensive research, user feedback, and our unwavering dedication to excellence in education.

Q2 Product Features

Student Scores Importation

  • When: Live

Once an admin creates a test group, they can choose to import scores from an Excel sheet that matches students to instances in the system using their admissions. Additionally, the admin has the option to edit score labels within the workspace settings.

Lesson Plan Labels.

An update on the lesson plan calendar view was actioned. Teacher names in tandem with the lesson plan.
 

Summative Marklist

  • Status: In progress
  • Date: May 27, 2024

Super-learning areas will now  dynamically be linked to Sub-learning areas  on the Summative Marklist

Admin Lesson Plan.

  • When: Live

The “All Lesson Plans” admin view has been updated to lesson plan view in calendar mode

Guardian Platform Status.

  • When: Live
  • Status: Done
  • Date: May 31, 2024

Features to enable or disable student guardians’ status. This capability can be used in various situations, such as when a guardian has not cleared fees. In this case, the Admin can prevent them from viewing the learner’s progress, and once the school fees are cleared, the guardian can be reinstated to active status.

Security update.

A new feature to ensure we comply with the latest trends in online security measures, we now prompt users to change their passwords if their account is flagged as unsafe

Pagination update

  • When: Live

  • Date: June 4, 2024

There’s now an option to select number of items displayed in paginated tables for, All Users, All Schemes, All Students, All Parents.

Classroom Profile.

  • When: Live
  • Status: Done
  • Date: June 6, 2024

The Overview section has been updated. The Classroom Coverage section can now be filtered and sorted by learning area and teacher 

Attendance module

  • When: Live

Sorting and searching of students is now available for Class Teachers in their attendance views.

Schemes and Lesson Plans.

Teachers can now tell when Lesson Plans and Schemes were created and/or updated with the addition of timestamps in both modules.

Summative Marklist

Teacher Profile.

Great news! Teachers can now upload profile photos on to their teacher profiles.

Lesson Planning with Kurasa AI

The future is here. Kurasa Africa Gold members now have access to the Kurasa – AI to facilitate incisive and futuristic lesson planning. Enjoy!

 

Summative Marklist update

Ranking information of learners is now available and it’s based on total marks.
Admins now have the option to view mark list for a given level/grade too.

Accounts Page

  • When: Live

The Accounts Page, has now been updated to have Change Password Form, Edit User Details, and Notifications List. 

Teacher Utilization.

  • When: Live

  • Date: July 1, 2024

Administrators now have access to more data on the teacher utilization page at a glance, i.e. teacher activity like the number of lesson plans created and if the attendance has been marked.

Workspace as a PWA

  • When: Live

We are glad to announce that it’s now possible to install the Kurasa Workspace as an app directly from your browser in the form of Progressive Web App (PWA).

 

Workspace Curriculum

Checks and balances have been put in place to restrict a workspace to only a single curriculum upon creation i.e. either one of CBC, IGSCE, CCP or KBC

Teacher Profile: Qualifications update.

Teachers can now upload files e.g. The Mwalimu Digital Novice Certificate in their profiles under the Professional Qualifications sections

An admin can now preview a Teachers Profile and search the learning areas assigned to the teacher,
