As we wrapped up our recent participation in the annual KEPSHA (Kenya Primary Schools Head Teachers Association) Conference on the scenic Kenyan coast on Thursday 7th November 2024, we are filled with gratitude and excitement for the meaningful engagements and opportunities that the event brought our way. We truly thank God for the chance to connect with school leaders, educators, and change-makers across Kenya in such a beautiful setting.
Setting the Scene: KEPSHA’s Unique Impact
Every year, the KEPSHA conference offers an invaluable platform for educational stakeholders to come together, share insights, and explore innovative solutions to advance learning in primary schools. This year was no exception. Held against the stunning backdrop of Kenya’s coast, the conference attracted school heads, education experts, and partners from across the nation, each united by a shared passion for improving Kenya’s primary education system.
For Kurasa, this year’s theme and energy provided a golden opportunity to showcase our digital solutions and to hear directly from the heart of Kenyan schools: the head teachers.
Interactive Moments: Highlights from Our Time at KEPSHA
- Product Demonstrations and Feedback Loops
Our Kurasa stand was buzzing with activity! We offered live demos, giving head teachers a firsthand look at how the platform supports lesson planning, attendance tracking, and competency-based assessments. These interactive sessions sparked deep conversations around the unique challenges schools face, especially within the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) framework.
Your Take: Did you attend one of our sessions?
We’d love to know what part of the demonstration stood out to you. Was it our automated assessment feature, or did you find the data analysis tools more impactful for tracking classroom progress?
- Engaging Conversations and New Connections
Meeting with school leaders from diverse regions, including those from more rural, frontier counties, was particularly insightful. Their feedback is helping us identify areas where Kurasa can adapt and serve even more effectively across different educational environments. Our face-to-face conversations helped build trust, and we felt immense encouragement in hearing how educators view technology as key to reaching educational goals in their schools.
Your Voice:
To those who joined us at the conference, we invite you to share how you feel technology is reshaping education in your region. Your input could inspire new features in Kurasa!
- Celebrating Educators and Sharing Our Vision
World Teacher’s Day aligned perfectly with the conference dates, allowing us to spotlight the extraordinary efforts of teachers and school leaders. As a small token of appreciation, we provided select Kurasa merchandise to attendees—a tangible reminder of our commitment to supporting them. We’re proud to have been part of such a moment and look forward to many more opportunities to celebrate teachers’ transformative work. - Faith, Gratitude, and Our Future Vision
Reflecting on the conference’s success, we are immensely grateful for God’s guidance, which made this experience both rewarding and enlightening. Each connection, every piece of feedback, and all the insights gained have added new strength to our mission to make Kurasa a trusted ally for every Kenyan school.
