Record the evidence behind the level

For a fractions lesson, decide what a correct comparison and explanation should look like. Use the learner’s work and explanation to select the level under your curriculum’s rubric, such as emerging, meeting or exceeding. Record the reason for the level and the practice the learner needs next.

Connect learning goals to evidence

Competency-based teaching asks what a learner can demonstrate as well as what has been covered. A connected routine begins with a curriculum objective, a suitable classroom activity and a check for understanding. Teachers interpret the evidence in context and use it to decide the next explanation, practice opportunity or support.

Keep planning adaptable

The class may need more time, a different example or another way to demonstrate understanding. Use planning and assessment records together to make those adjustments visible. Where AI helps prepare a draft, check the curriculum language and learning expectations. Explore Workspace teaching and assessment for the supporting school workflows.
