Who can use this feature

Open the correct school workspace and its class attendance register. Marking requires the class-teacher assignment and attendance access; a staff role alone does not assign a class.

Before you start

Confirm the school, academic year and date before recording anything. Check that the learner belongs to the selected class for that year.

You need the original class, date, supporting information and permission to mark that class. Past-date restrictions still apply.

Picklist prerequisites

ChoiceOptions come fromEarlier selectionIf missing
Class / cohortClass-teacher assignmentThe class list comes from your class-teacher assignments in this workspace. Ask an administrator to check the assignment and academic year if it is empty.Learner rows load after choosing a class. Add or link the active learners to that class first; changing a role label does not populate the register.

The register supports Full Day (1), Half Day (2) and Absent (3). P, H and A appear in history. A dot or blank means not marked; it is not an absence.

  1. Open the saved class and date. Check the existing marks and comments before editing.
  2. Select the corrected mark for the intended learner. Preserve other learners’ marks and useful existing comments.
  3. Add a brief explanation of the checked correction. Review the entire class because Submit saves the register’s learner rows.
  4. Choose Submit, wait for confirmation and reopen the same day. Check the corrected mark and the unchanged rows.

If section tabs are hidden on a phone, open More where available. Swipe wide tables sideways to reach every column.

On a phone, close the navigation drawer. Learners appear as individual cards with Full, Half and Absent options. Work down every card, type any comment, then scroll to Submit. Reopen the same class and date to verify.

Save and verify

Confirm the saved correction in the register and review affected daily totals. Recheck any follow-up that depended on the old mark.

Troubleshooting

A past day cannot be changed?

Ask the school administrator to check the retroactive attendance policy and your class assignment. Use the authorised correction process; do not record the correction under today’s date.

If saving fails, keep your notes, check the connection and read the error. Reopen the same class and date to check what was saved before submitting again.
