Teacher resource

A growth mindset is a reteach, not a poster about trying

Give learners another opportunity to demonstrate a competency. Name the approach they used, observe the next attempt and adjust the activity or explanation based on what you see.

Practical teaching guide, updated September 2026. Use the examples to discuss lesson preparation, classroom observations and follow-up with your teaching team.

Three habits that survive a period

Praise the way the work was done, not a permanent talent. Close a short formative check while the lesson is warm. Plan the reteach for the strand that is still grey — not a motivational assembly. Process language without a next task is a poster.

Practice, feedback and the next attempt

Give learners time to try, explain and revise their work. Offer feedback on the strategy they used and provide another opportunity to practise. A short classroom record helps the teacher plan that next attempt.

The product

Workspace holds the evidence that the reteach happened. Daily Challenge is five questions after supper — practice, not a personality test. PSL is a sitting under timed conditions. Keep those clocks apart.

The next try

If nothing changes tomorrow, it was a poster.

Formative assessment is the reading. Lesson planning is the reteach. The 60dB academics post is the study.
