ICT for CBC teachers is a device in the lesson, not a private college course
CBC assumes a teacher can put a plan, a register and a competency on a device. Many cannot yet, or cannot on the school’s connection. The May 2024 guide said the gap out loud. Private ICT colleges are not the only answer. Daily work on the actual tool is how Miss Wanjiru, in the 60 Decibels human story, said the old “IT is here to stay” slogan finally became speakable.
Practical teaching guide, updated September 2026. Use the examples to discuss lesson preparation, classroom observations and follow-up with your teaching team.
The gap, without theatre
Limited hardware. Thin training. Staffrooms that still run on paper because paper does not drop. Resistance is not stupidity; it is a week that already overflowed. Pre-service programmes that skip ICT send new teachers into that week unprepared.
How Workspace supports the routine
Practise the ICT tasks teachers use during the school week: preparing schemes, recording attendance and keeping formative assessment notes in Workspace. Start with a familiar lesson and review the record with a colleague.
Collapsed here
Begin with a familiar teaching task on the device your staff use. Practise opening the lesson plan, taking the register and recording a short assessment note, then review any difficulties with a colleague.

By using it
Digital confidence is a weekday, not a seminar.
The 60dB digital-confidence post is the study. Workspace is the practice.
