Start with the strand. Prepare for the learners in front of you.
KICD curriculum designs give teachers the learning areas, strands, substrands and learning outcomes for their level. In Workspace, lesson preparation, attendance and formative assessment sit alongside the curriculum your school has enrolled. The official designs remain the reference for what you teach.
Choose a learning activity and the materials you will use. During the lesson, listen to explanations, observe attempts and note where another example is needed. Close the lesson with a short record and a decision about what to revisit. This is the Plan–Teach–Assess routine.
Your curriculum, your teaching practice
National curriculum, IB or Cambridge.
We use your school’s national curriculum, International Baccalaureate (IB) or Cambridge International programme as the reference for planning, teaching and assessment. The programme, level, subjects and syllabus edition are agreed during setup.
