A living record at home: what parents said on camera in 2023

The 2023 film lets parents speak without a survey codebook. What they describe is a record they can open, not a closing-day surprise.

You follow the progress of your children in a more friendly manner than physical report cards.

Christine Kimathi, parent, Marion Schools — Kurasa impact documentary 2023

Christine Kimathi, a Marion Schools parent, put it simply: following progress from home felt more friendly than physical report cards.

Daniel Engeshi, also a Marion Schools parent, describes a continuous school record from PP1 onward. In the documentary, he discusses sharing that academic record when a learner moves schools or needs to provide their learning history.

The Kurasa Report in that chapter is assessment history that can travel. A year later, 71% of teachers in the 60 Decibels study said parent engagement had improved. Keep the two sources labelled. They rhyme; they are not the same measurement.
