Bidii Comprehensive, Moiben: “Shule yangu iko reserve sana”
“Winnie, shule yangu iko reserve sana, uko sure utafika?” The headteacher at Bidii Comprehensive asked whether she would really reach a school that far off the tarmac. Reliability, in that sentence, is a bodaboda and a staffroom, not a slogan.

The school
Winnie’s account describes the journey to Bidii Comprehensive and the headteacher’s commitment to his learners. The introductory session focused on practical school records and the support teachers would need to continue using them.
Two Mr Williams
Katangini in Mwingi North also named a headteacher as Mr William. They are not the same visit and not assumed to be the same person. Bidii is Moiben, via Eldoret. Connectivity was part of the job. Workspace still has to survive a weak network.
In their words
Winnie, shule yangu iko reserve sana, uko sure utafika?
Mr William, Bidii Comprehensive — as published, 2025

A remote school is still a week of registers and plans.
Workspace is built for the staffroom that exists, including the one at the end of a valley road.
