CBE improves when the week improves, not when the slogan does

African competency-based reforms fail in the same place Kenyan CBC strains: a policy that does not survive first period. The May 2025 essay said “perpetual improvement.” This rewrite says the week has to get better, in a real staffroom, or the acronym is decoration.

Teacher resource, rewritten from the mykurasa.com guide for this site in September 2026. It is not a 60 Decibels percentage. Where a 60dB piece already covers the same weekday job, that piece is a see-also — the figures stay on that ledger.

What still has to be true

Work with teachers, not on them. Fund professional learning communities and mentorship with time on the timetable, not a stolen break. Context-shaped CPD — the actual device, the actual class size — instead of a cascade workshop nobody opens again. Pay and posting still matter. Software does not replace them.

What we dropped

“Revolution.” A one-size framework imported as proof. Unchecked citations from the original literature review. When official language prefers CBE over CBC, date the change. Do not silently restyle the years teachers already lived.

Where Kurasa sits

Workspace is the page for the week that has to improve. Academy rehearses it. QASOs can sit with that week instead of only the file. The implementing-CBC dest names the snags. This page is the habit after the snag is named.

The week

If it cannot be taught on Monday, it is not a reform.

The CBC guide is the how-to. Academy is the sitting. Implementing CBC is the honest list of snags.
