“Winnie, shule yangu iko reserve sana, uko sure utafika?” The headteacher at Bidii Comprehensive asked whether she would really reach a school that far off the tarmac. Reliability, in that sentence, is a bodaboda and a staffroom, not a slogan.

The visit
The 2025 note says about half the learners were half-orphaned or orphaned. That is the school’s published description from that visit, not a fundraising caption. Mr William’s line was that everything is mental — meaning the school would not be defined only by the difficulty of the road. We do not turn that into a miracle story.
Katangini in Mwingi North also named a headteacher as Mr William. They are not the same visit and not assumed to be the same person. Bidii is Moiben, via Eldoret. Connectivity was part of the job. Workspace still has to survive a weak network.
