Teacher resource

Teachers stay for pay, posting and a week that can be finished — not a resilience poster

The June 2024 original talked about resilience as if staying were a character trait. Teachers leave because of pay, posting, housing, a load that overflowed, a staffroom that left them alone. Mentorship and a usable weekday help. They do not replace a salary.

Teacher resource, rewritten from the mykurasa.com guide for this site in September 2026. It is not a 60 Decibels percentage. Where a 60dB piece already covers the same weekday job, that piece is a see-also — the figures stay on that ledger.

What a school can actually hold

A mentor on the timetable. CPD that rehearses Tuesday, not a hotel certificate. A register and a plan that do not eat Sunday. A head who can see the load. Those are retention habits a staffroom controls. TSC posting and pay are a different file.

Ledgers, kept apart

Sixty Decibels asked Kenyan teachers whether Kurasa improved their quality of life. That percentage lives on its own post. This how-to will not borrow it as if a survey were a retention study. Wellbeing is the weekday next door. Mentorship is the pair.

Honesty

Kurasa can give time back if the admin job shrinks. It cannot keep a teacher in a hardship posting. Do not write “building resilience” as if the product were the reason someone stayed.

The week that can be finished

Give the Sunday back. Do not call that a career policy.

The 60dB quality-of-life post is the study. Wellbeing is the habit. Admin time is the mechanism.
