Tanzania · walimu and school leaders

Prepare the lesson. Notice the learning. Plan the next step.

For Tanzanian teachers, competence takes shape in the activity a learner attempts and the feedback that follows. Explore how Kurasa’s planning, attendance and formative assessment tools could support that daily routine, starting with the TIE syllabus your school uses.

Local context

Your muhtasari is the starting point.

Tanzania Institute of Education syllabi guide what is taught. A useful classroom routine connects that syllabus to lesson preparation, teaching materials, learner participation and continuous assessment. Begin with your level and subject, then agree the curriculum setup with our team.

  • Bring the current muhtasari and a sample lesson plan for the class you teach.
  • Tell us whether teaching is in Kiswahili or English so the walkthrough reflects your setting.

Your curriculum, your teaching practice

National curriculum, IB or Cambridge.

We use your school’s national curriculum, International Baccalaureate (IB) or Cambridge International programme as the reference for planning, teaching and assessment. The programme, level, subjects and syllabus edition are agreed during setup.

National pathway

Mtaala wa taifa · mitaala na mihtasari ya TET

Taasisi ya Elimu Tanzania (TET / TIE). We use Tanzania’s national curriculum and the TET / Tanzania Institute of Education syllabus for your level. Begin with the muhtasari, prepare the azimio la kazi and andalio la somo, then use tathmini endelevu to guide the next lesson.

National curriculum reference

IB pathway

International Baccalaureate (IB)

Use the IB programme your school teaches: PYP, MYP, DP or CP. Connect inquiry, unit planning, classroom activities, reflection and formative assessment to the programme’s requirements.

IB programmes

Cambridge pathway

Cambridge International · IGCSE

Use the Cambridge programme and syllabus for your stage: Cambridge Primary, Lower Secondary, IGCSE, or International AS & A Level. Plan by subject and syllabus, keep assessment evidence and prepare the next teaching step.

The classroom routine

From lesson preparation to the next teaching decision.

Workspace brings lesson planning, attendance and formative evidence into one record. In a walkthrough, we explore that record against your curriculum and confirm the setup your school would need.

Prepare from the syllabus

Choose the competence and a practical activity. Note the materials available and the questions you will use to check understanding.

Listen during the activity

Take attendance and observe how pupils explain, demonstrate or practise. Notice who needs another example or more time.

Carry the observation forward

Record a short assessment note while the lesson is fresh. Use it to decide what to revisit in the next period.

Evidence from the lesson

Keep the classroom observation behind the assessment.

In a first walkthrough, we could follow a numeracy activity: the task set, the method a pupil tried, the feedback given and the next opportunity to practise. This is the kind of teaching record we would explore with your staff.

Use the walkthrough to agree curriculum requirements, classroom setup and staff support before planning the first teaching cycle.

Implementation

Begin with one class and the documents already in use.

  • Share your school level, subject, teaching language and a sample planning document.
  • Review curriculum mapping and access on the phones or computers your staff use.
  • Agree a first class, a staff practice session and a time to review the routine together.

Pricing

School plans in TZS.

Compare the school plans in Tanzanian shillings · shilingi za Tanzania (TZS). A classroom means one cohort of learners. Choose a billing period, then discuss curriculum setup, teacher support and the number of classes with our team.

Prices are per classroom: one cohort of learners, rather than one teacher or individual learner. KES and USD school-plan reference prices include applicable taxes. Local currency equivalents help you budget; your quote confirms the final terms.

Curriculum resources and questions

Planning your first step in Tanzania.

Can we begin with a Kiswahili-medium primary class?

Share the level, TIE syllabus and sample documents in your enquiry. We will review curriculum and language requirements with you and confirm the available setup before arranging a start.

What should we bring to a walkthrough?

A current curriculum document, a sample lesson plan and a description of the assessment records your staff keep. Use anonymised examples. Include your teaching language, class numbers and available devices in the enquiry.

Can a network or education programme start a discussion?

Yes. Tell us the schools and levels involved, who will support the teachers and the planning or assessment routine you want to work on. We will agree the scope and a suitable first phase with you.
