The first CBC cohort is now choosing senior school — Grades 10 to 12 — by pathway, not by chasing a famous national badge. Three doors: STEM; Social Sciences; Arts and Sports Science. The weekday record still has to exist before anyone opens the official portal.

Kurasa does not write KJSEA papers, does not run selection.education.go.ke, and does not place a learner into Grade 10. Pathway rules and score weights move. Date any policy sentence. Confirm the current circular before you advise a family.
STEM: pure sciences, applied sciences, technical studies. Social Sciences: humanities, business, languages and literature. Arts and Sports Science: an arts track and a sports-science track. Schools offer one, two or all three according to facilities — not according to the old national/county prestige ladder. The March 2025 original also cited a ministry planning split of roughly 60 percent STEM, 25 percent Social Sciences, 15 percent Arts and Sports. That split was a planning note then. It is not a quota this page will enforce.
School-based assessment in Grades 7 and 8 is the year. KPSEA at Grade 6 and KJSEA at Grade 9 are the public sittings that sit on top of it. The March 2025 original cited a MoE/KNEC outline of 20 percent KPSEA, 20 percent school-based work, 60 percent KJSEA as the placement mix. Treat that as dated. If the 2026 circular moved a weight, the circular wins. This page will not invent cut-scores, cluster lists or a “Kurasa aggregate” a parent can log in and read.
Workspace keeps the weekday: plans, attendance, formative evidence against indicators. That is the year a teacher and a parent can actually talk from. The official selection door is the ministry’s. Start with the learner’s interest and the school that actually offers the track — not with a famous gate. Do not paste 60 Decibels percentages or stale enrolment counts into this how-to. Those live on their own ledgers.
