The 2023 film and PDF are Volume 1 of the weekday record. This page is Volume 2: a short, dated addendum so a later reader does not flatten two years into one “impact” sentence.
Kurasa paper. Dated, with a method note. This is not a substitute for the 2023 impact report PDF, the 60 Decibels study, or the homepage N+ counts dated 29 August 2026. Those three ledgers stay apart.
It is a public method note for the figures on the Kurasa home page, and a pointer to the 2023 impact report which remains the narrative of year three. It is not a new impact evaluation. It does not replace the 60 Decibels Lean Data Study of 208 Kenyan teachers (phone interviews, March 2024; report April 2024). Those teachers are a different ledger.
By the end of 2023 Kurasa was three years old. The published snapshot was 20,000 learners, 42 schools, 17 counties, and an implementation team of 13. Teachers used the product for lesson planning, schemes of work, attendance and formative assessment. Parents could follow a record without waiting for closing day. That chapter is on film and in the PDF linked below.
As of 29 August 2026 the conservative N+ counts are: 6,000+ teachers, 150k learners, 10M+ assessments delivered. N+ means at least N. Teachers are distinct users who have ever held the teacher role. Learners are published as 150k; ever-enrolled sits a little higher and is not the homepage number. Countries named in public are Kenya, Rwanda and Ghana.
Assessments are lifetime formative student assessments, estimated from batches and 2026 density. They are not Daily Challenge plays. They are not the roughly 1.08 million PSL summative scores. Folding those into the same headline is how a weekday record becomes a marketing number. We do not do that here.
Public-school reach is a separate sentence. Work in Kirinyaga with Brink, the Jacobs Foundation and Kenya’s Teachers Service Commission is why Kurasa now serves classrooms at county scale; the partners page carries ~400 public schools in Kenya. That is not the 42 schools of 2023, and it is not a claim about every school in the 150k.
It is not a claim that quality scaled in a straight line with headcount. The 60 Decibels NPS of 40 — good, below that firm’s education benchmark of 51 — still belongs to March 2024 and to 208 teachers. KISEL, the licensing platform with Ghana’s NaSIA and ESDEV Foundation Africa, is a plan with an October 2025 MoU; it is not live on this date. Rwanda is not a footnote on Kenya: pricing on the site is in Kenya Shillings, and a Kigali or Accra conversation is a different quote.
