Sharing and cloning lesson plans on Kurasa helps teachers collaborate, save time, and avoid repeating work while maintaining clear ownership and CBC accountability. Teachers can share lesson plans to exchange ideas and clone lesson plans to reuse content for their own classes.
This article explains how to share a lesson plan with another teacher and how to clone a lesson plan for reuse.
Before You Begin #
To share or clone a lesson plan:
- You must be logged into your Kurasa workspace
- You must have already created or received a lesson plan
- Teachers you share with must belong to the same workspace
All actions are done from the Lesson Plans section.

Part A: Sharing Lesson Plans with Other Teachers #
Step 1: Open All Lesson Plans #
- Click Lesson Plans under the Teacher section
- Select All Lesson Plans
Step 2: Select the Lesson Plan to Share #
- Locate the lesson plan using class or subject filters
- Click the lesson plan and select View Details
Step 3: Share the Lesson Plan #
- Click the options menu (three-dot icon)
- Select Share
- Choose the teacher you want to share with
- Click Submit
The lesson plan will now appear under Received Lesson Plans for the receiving teacher.
What Happens After Sharing #
- The original teacher remains the owner of the lesson plan
- The receiving teacher can view the lesson plan but cannot edit it
- Shared lesson plans are clearly labeled
This protects lesson ownership and accountability.
Part B: Cloning Lesson Plans for Reuse #
Cloning allows a teacher to reuse an existing lesson plan as their own.
Step 4: Select a Lesson Plan to Clone #
- Open All Lesson Plans or Received Lesson Plans
- Select the lesson plan you want to reuse
- Click View Details
Step 5: Clone the Lesson Plan #
- Click the options menu (three-dot icon)
- Select Clone
Step 6: Update Lesson Details #
When cloning:
- Learning area, strand, and substrand are auto-filled
- Select the new class, date, time, and duration
- Make any necessary adjustments
- Click Save
The cloned lesson plan is now saved as your own lesson plan.
Important Notes on Sharing vs Cloning #
- Sharing is for viewing and learning from others
- Cloning is for reusing content as your own lesson plan
- Shared lesson plans cannot be edited unless cloned
- Cloned lesson plans are fully editable and owned by you
