TLAP in Ghana, 30 April 2025: a classroom pilot, not a licensing file

On 30 April 2025, at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, Kurasa Africa, ESDEV Foundation Africa and the Ghana Education Service launched TLAP — Teaching, Learning and Assessment Platform — for Ghana’s Standards-Based Curriculum and Common Core Programme. The room was a launch. The evidence was a pilot.

What was claimed for the pilot

Between 2024 and early 2025 the platform ran in 14 public and private basic schools across four regions. The launch note recorded 1,121 learners, 143 educators trained, more than 14,000 digital attendance entries, 2,114 formative assessments and 591 curriculum-aligned lesson plans. Those numbers stay on the 2025 ledger.

Who spoke

Prof. Jophus Anamuah-Mensah and Prof. Francis Owusu-Mensah spoke for ESDEV. William Nguru demonstrated the product. Prince Agyeman-Duah of GES pledged institutional support to scale. Teachers named in the write-up — Sir Richard Donkor (Oti), Jerry Rockson (Central), Selasie Mensah (Greater Accra) — talked about workload and knowing where learners needed help. That is the classroom claim. It is not a national dashboard.

What was a plan, not a result

The same write-up listed next steps: Ministry engagement, interest from GPE, UNICEF and UNESCO, onboarding across 16 regions, talk of CENDLOS iBox for offline use. Treat those as intentions from April 2025. This site will not write them as if they already happened. The September 2024 ESDEV press release 301s here.
