Teacher resource

A CBC resource room is a cupboard you can open on Monday — we do not have a named school

A resource centre can begin with a room or cupboard containing schemes, charts, apparatus and a shared device. Keep a sign-out record and organise materials around the activities teachers plan to teach.

Practical teaching guide, updated September 2026. Use the examples to discuss lesson preparation, classroom observations and follow-up with your teaching team.

Practice note: organising shared curriculum documents, teaching aids and devices for use during the school week.

What the room actually needs

Materials teachers will use this week, not a museum. A simple inventory. Training that is the scheme and the device, not a launch. Parents can visit if the school wants a workshop — that is optional. Digital resources belong on the tool the staff already open, not a second portal nobody bookmarks.

What we refused

Choose resources around the lessons teachers are preparing. Keep a simple borrowing record, check the condition of materials and review which activities need additional support.

Beside the product

Workspace is a page, not a building. ICT skills is the device in the lesson. Shared JSS labs are the science version of the same scarcity. Academy can rehearse the week the cupboard is meant to serve.

The cupboard

If it cannot be signed out on Monday, it is not a centre.

Workspace for the living week. Academy for the rehearsal. Contact if a named centre should be written with permission.
