Press release

KEPSHA and Kurasa Africa partner to equip public primary teachers with digital CBC tools

The Kenya Primary School Heads Association (KEPSHA) and Kurasa Africa have signed a partnership to put Competency-Based Curriculum classroom tools in the hands of public primary teachers.

Kurasa statement of the 12 July 2024 signing, rewritten for this site in September 2026. It is not a reprint of Education News, The Standard or iHub. Later scale figures stay on those clippings and on Impact.

The signing is 12 July 2024. This is Kurasa’s own statement of that week. Coverage by other newsrooms lives on Media, each with its own date. None of those dates is a 2026 status board.

The agreement was signed in Nairobi on 12 July 2024. Johnson Nzioka, then chairman of KEPSHA, said teachers needed tools for CBC and for the administration that eats the week. The association is the way into those schools.

William Nguru, chief executive of Kurasa Africa, said technology should take work off the teacher, not add a portal. The work covered by the partnership is lesson planning, assessment, and a parent-facing picture of the week.

Also named at the table that day: Kennedy Kyeva, KEPSHA treasurer, and Irene Yiaile, secretary. Schools are authorised through the association’s zonal and sub-county chairs. Teachers then work in their own workspace.

What this statement is not

It is not a ministry gazette and it is not a substitute for official CBC documents. It does not publish a 2026 learner or teacher count. Figures that later appeared in press coverage of that week stay on those clippings.

About Kurasa

Kurasa is teacher-first software for CBC and CBE classrooms in Kenya, Rwanda and Ghana. It holds the lesson, the register, the evidence and the family in one record so schools are not reconstructing the week from paper.
