Who can use this feature
Use your own authorised school account. Settings usually require owner, co-owner, administrator or school-leadership access; finance and staff-credit actions have their own permissions. Confirm the specific action with the school lead.
Before you start
Confirm the workspace, academic year, school curriculum and your responsibility for this change. Have the approved school records available and review existing settings before entering replacements.
Confirm the curriculum configured for the school, active classes, subject allocations and approved rubric policy for each level.
Required and optional fields
| Field | Requirement | Format or example | Prerequisite |
|---|---|---|---|
| Curriculum, subject and syllabus reference | Check before continuing | Confirm the framework, level, subject and applicable syllabus/version with the school. Catalogue choices must match the intended programme before planning or entering assessment records. | The school’s enabled curriculum, active levels and available rubric catalogue. |
| Level and grading-system category | Required when applicable | Choose the intended active level and an offered category. Choices depend on the school curriculum and catalogue; do not substitute another framework to fill an empty list. | The school’s enabled curriculum, active levels and available rubric catalogue. |
| Lower and upper bounds | Required when applicable | When editing a supported rubric, both bounds in each band are required and non-negative. Lower must be below upper; ordered bands must not overlap. Use school-approved values. | The school’s enabled curriculum, active levels and available rubric catalogue. |
| Formative Weight and Summative Weight | Required when applicable | Both values are required when editing assessment weights. Enter fractions from 0 to 1 whose sum is 1; follow the approved policy rather than inventing percentages. | The school’s enabled curriculum, active levels and available rubric catalogue. |
Picklist prerequisites

Desktop walkthrough
Choose the intended level
Screen walkthrough · 0:12Download GIF ↓- Review the school year and class levels. Confirm each teacher’s intended learning area before checking planning or assessment lists.
- Open Settings → Preferences → Grading System. Inspect the available CBE achievement/performance categories; use only the approved category offered for the school.
- For a level-specific setting, select the active level and review its category and bounds. Save authorised edits, then reopen that level to verify them.
- Check assessment weights and score-display preferences with the school lead. Changing a display option does not change what was observed or taught.
- Check the teacher’s class/area → strand → sub-strand path and a sample saved plan. Compare activities and inquiry prompts with the approved KICD reference.
Mobile walkthrough
Choose the intended level
Screen walkthrough · 0:12Download GIF ↓On a phone, open the school menu and the feature named in the steps. Open one record or panel at a time. Scroll inside drawers and close the keyboard to reach the lower fields and final action.
Choose prerequisite fields first and check any defaults after changing school, year, class or curriculum. For wide grids and large imports, use landscape or a larger screen; the written instructions remain available.
After an authorised save, wait for confirmation and reopen the record. If a request may have completed, inspect the saved state before trying again.
Save and verify
The intended level has the correct saved rubric and teachers see the expected curriculum choices. Record support needs and the next preparation action.
Troubleshooting
An option or feature is missing
Check school, year, role, curriculum and enabled modules. Clear search filters and wait for loading. Resolve the preceding setup item first; ask the administrator to check access if the choice remains unavailable.
A class has the workspace default instead of its intended rubric
Select the class’s level and inspect its override. Confirm the active level and available category before changing the workspace-wide default.
A change did not save
Read the named validation error and correct that field. Check whether any part of the request succeeded before retrying. Keep the original source record available until the saved version has been checked.
